Snow Date

Description

I have now decided to enter this pic in the contest at :iconbbxrae:. It was a last minute, "What the heck? Why not?" There's so much awesome competition that I feel very small now... ^^; Good luck everyone! :aww:

This is a pic I made for one of my dearest friends here on DA. This is for :iconcrazy18gurl:. Hope you like it alright. ^^; I even got carried away and wrote a little story for it. :) Here ya go. :)

Beast Boy walked alongside Raven, crunching through the newest layer of fallen snow. His mind however, was not focused on his winter wonderland surroundings, but on the fact that Raven had actually agreed to accompany him to the park that day. To BB, this was one of the most special moments of his life so far. While Beast Boy considered this little trip to be a "date", Raven saw it as a simple walk through the park to shut BB's mouth, if only for a short while. While on their stroll, they happened to pass by a snowman wearing a top hat. It was quite a peculiar sight actually. As they walked along, they didn't seem to notice the little coal eyes following their every move. The snowman even seemed to smile at them with his dotted line mouth. The snowman was tempted to move away from the couple, but soon decided against it. He was enjoying himself watching these two "lovers." Or so he thought. Lovers, yeah right. Or were they really? Were they really too stubborn to admit that they both had even the tiniest feelings for each other? Sadly, yes... After walking for a few more moments, Raven suddenly got the strangest feeling that someone was watching them.
"Hey, Beast Boy," Raven began.
"Huh?! W-what?" BB was quite startled after having his little daydream interrupted. "Darn, I was just about to get to the good part..." he thought to himself.
"Do you get the feeling that we're being watched?" Raven asked, as she eyed her surroundings wearily.
"Uh, no. Gee Rae, paranoid much?" BB answered.
Raven shot him her trademark glare before replying. "I'm not being paranoid. I really think someone's stalking us."
"Who's stalking us? The snowman?" At that, Beast Boy turned around and pointed to the snowman in his top hat. The snowman tried very hard to contain the sudden giggle that arose at Beast Boy's last comment.
"Oh Frosty, you've done it again," the Snowman thought to himself. "You can't even amuse yourself without attracting some attention."
"Yeah Beast Boy, the snowman's stalking us," Raven said in her monotone sarcasm as she rolled her eyes. And at that, BB turned around only to find Silkie standing right in front of him.
"Gaahh!" Beast Boy yelled as he jumped backwards to avoid stepping on Silkie. "Oh man, Silkie what are you doing out here?! Starfire will kill me if you catch a cold in this weather!" Beast Boy was quite frazzled, while Raven simply rolled her eyes, and thought to herself, "Well, there's the answer to my earlier question. The dumb bug must've followed us out the door..." Silkie however, seemed quite unaffected by the cold weather. He just sat there smiling up at the two of them with his wide, pointy-toothed grin.
"Beast Boy, I don't think Silkie cares about the weather. We'll just bring him back with us when we're done." Raven then began walking onward, leaving Beast Boy to stand there and exchange glances with Silkie. It was at that moment, in fact, that a little light bulb popped up over BB's head. He had a brilliant idea for how to get Raven to actually enjoy herself. This was a perfect day for a snowball fight, since it was still snowing, and the park was nearly empty since the townsfolk were doing all their last minute Christmas shoppping. "This'll be so much fun," BB thought to himself. "Raven's always wanted to pummel me anyway, why not have a little fun in the process! I'm a genius!" Silkie knew all too well where this was going, so he simply chose to wiggle himself out of range.
"Oh dear, that green lad looks quite devilish now, I'll bet he's up to something. That purple-haired girl better watch herself. Wait, I'd better watch myself!" Frosty had his little mental conversation with himself before hopping out of range, unnoticed by everyone except Silkie. Silkie however, simply sat and stared at Frosty. It's not as if he could get anyone's attention anyway right? Beast Boy decided it was time to attempt his "plan". He scooped up a handful or two of snow, and molded it into a snowball.
"Hey Raven! Wanna have a snowball fight?" BB hollered to Raven's back.
"Beast Boy, you know as well as I do that I don't do those childish-" And before Raven could turn around completely, much less finish her sentence, she was nailed in the head with Beast Boy's wet ball of snow. Raven stood there for a moment, before her eye began twitching in frustration. Beast Boy simply stood there, frozen at the sight he was beholding. There was Raven, looking mad as all get out, with a snowball clinging to her forehead. It was quite funny actually, but Beast Boy didn't dare laugh. Finally, after what seemed like ages, Raven sighed and hung her head, the wet, cold snowball still clinging to her warm skin and hair.
"Alright BB, you wanted a snowball fight, right? I'll give you a snowball fight, just this once." Raven then looked up and her angry expression was then replaced with a devilish smile. "Uh oh... I've only seen that look once, but I know it's bad news." BB thought. He was, of course, referring to the incident when she had decided to join them in their "Stankball" game. After that experience, both Cyborg and Beast Boy wished she hadn't. Before BB could finish gathering his thoughts, the breezy winter air was filled with snowballs surrounded in a black magic aura. All he could do was stare in shock at the menacing smile on Raven's face, and the army of flying snowballs that were about to pummel him.
"Eep!" was all he could say at the moment.
Meanwhile, Frosty was having some rather rotten luck himself. Almost as much as BB was. The previous gust of cold air had blown his hat off his round, snowy head, and wouldn't you know, it landed right on Silkie's head!
"Happy Birthday!" Silkie exclaimed with his new-found ability to speak. His words, however, fell on deaf ears, since Beast Boy and Raven were too caught up in their one-sided snowball fight. And as we take our leave of Jump City Park, we can still hear poor BB suffer the wrath of Raven, "Queen of Snowball Fights." So much for BB's date huh?

So, how was my so-called story? :? I'm not a writer, so this is a first for me. You all know of Frosty the Snowman I hope. Otherwise, you might not get some of it. ^^; I got the idea of "Silkie the Snowman" from the latest X-Mas issue of Teen Titans GO! It was a really cute story, but of course it was Mumbo's hat that allowed him to talk, not Frosty's. Anyway, I drew this and colored it by hand, then I touched up the resolution, etc. in Photo Impressions 4. I also added the snowflakes in PI4. I hope you like it CraZy! :aww:  Happy holidays everyone! :santa: :xmas: :rudolph: :holly: :snowflake: :snowing:

PS: Full-view please, it looks much better. Sorry, the small view came out wrong. ^^;
